To kick off October’s celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, hundreds of Philadelphia area residents will gather to support and raise funds for Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) at The Butterfly Ball, the organization’s annual fundraiser to honor four courageous women who have been impacted by breast cancer. The gala is a glamorous evening featuring an emotional awards ceremony paying tribute to Leslie Taichman of Narberth; JoAnn Cottman of Jeffersonville; Lisa Black of Bryn Mawr; and Sue Weldon of West Chester, all of whom have individual heroic, heartfelt and exceptional accounts with a disease that touches nearly 200,000 women annually.

The evening, planned by co-chairs Heidi and Jim Boudreau of Newton Square, Philadelphia restaurateur Audrey Claire Taichman and Liz Barrett of New Hope will help commence the evening’s celebration.  Chico’s FAS, Inc., which operates well-known apparel brands White House | Black Market, Chico’s and Soma Intimates, will be presented with the 2010 Corporate Leadership Award.

LBBC is a national organization that is dedicated to empowering all women affected by breast cancer and providing the necessary resources for education, emotional and financial support. The Butterfly Ball will feature a silent auction and Grand Prize drawing of a custom-designed diamond bracelet with 142 glittering diamonds set in white gold from Govberg Jewelers valued at $17,980.
