FairWind Secures Part of Contract for 443MW Wind Project Installation in the United Kingdom.

FairWind has been selected as one of the installation partners for the Viking Wind Farm project in the Shetland Islands, which will be Vestas’ largest onshore wind farm order in Europe to date.

Vejle, Januay 20, 2023 FairWind commences 2023 with a partial contract for the Viking Wind Farm project in the Shetland Islands and will be responsible for erecting 65 wind turbines at a total of 280 MW. The total project will consist of 103 Vestas V117-4.2 MW turbines that will be erected from February 2023 and is expected to be fully operational in 2024.

The Viking Wind Farm is located in the Shetland Islands north of mainland Scotland. When completed in 2024, the Viking Wind Farm will be the UK’s largest onshore wind farm in terms of annual electricity output and will play a crucial role in contributing towards the United Kingdom and Scotland’s net zero targets.
