New Robur Group for fund and insurance savings. Swedbank Ltd. and Robur Kapitalförvaltning AB have decided to consolidate the bank´s entire array of fund and insurance services within a new, expanded Robur Group. The aim of this is to further strengthen the array of services on offer to the rapidly growing market for pension/endowment- and insurance-savings programmes, in which Swedbank has long been a market leader. Swedbank´s subsidiary SparFond will be part, under the name Robur Försäkring AB ("RoburInsurance, Ltd."), of the new Robur Group. The parent company will be Robur AB ("Robur, Ltd."), wholly owned by Swedbank, with four subdivisions: Robur Kapitalförvaltning ("Robur Capital Management"), Robur Försäkring ("Robur Insurance"), Robur Försäljning ("Robur Sales") and Robur Administration. The new group´s share of the Swedish market for fund savings will be nearly 35%; for sales to the life-insurance market, over 20%. CEO of the new Robur AB will be Peter Nilsson, currently CEO of SparFond. Chairman of the Board will be Anders Sahlén. Peter Nilsson: "The new organisation will be a powerful player in a rapidly expanding market. The deregulation of the pensions market not least makes clear the need for a modern organisation. By consolidating all of our fund and insurance activities in a single, consolidated structure, we can further enhance our market focus and provide our customers with a complete array of services." Joachim Spetz will remain in charge of capital management within the Robur Group and will become head of Robur Kapitalförvaltning. Effective with this reorganisation, present CEO Göran Espelund will leave Robur Kapitalförvaltning AB. Magnus Björnesjö has been proposed as Peter Nilsson´s successor in SparFond and would thus become head of the new Robur Försäkring. The aforementioned board-approved changes are, of course, subject to approval by the appropriate regulatory agencies.
