Two out of six members of the Riksbank Executive Board from Swedbank Sveriges Riksbank today announced the names of the six persons who will make up the newly established Executive Board which will constitute the executive management of the Riksbank. Two of the six members come from Swedbank. Eva Srejber, Executive Vice President and member of the Executive Management of Swedbank will leave Swedbank at the end of the year to join the Executive Board of the Riksbank. Lars Nyberg, Executive Vice President of Swedbank who left the bank earlier this autumn will also be a member of the new Executive Board of the Riksbank. - The Riksbank's decision is both positive and negative. It is naturally regrettable that Eva Srejber is leaving Swedbank where her areas of responsibility are and will continue to be of high priority. During the relatively short period of time that she has been with the bank she has, among other things, been able to make very positive contributions to the development of Swedbank's role as the "EMU-bank" of small and medium-sized enterprises. Lars Nyberg is already working on strategic financial issues outside the bank. I am happy for both of them for the new, very important and interesting tasks they will now have on the management of the Riksbank. At the same time I am pleased and proud that we have been able to provide the Riksbank with two members of the new Executive Board, says Reinhold Geijer, President and CEO of Swedbank. Eva Srejber has been a member of Swedbank's Executive Management since April 1, 1998 and had before that been working at the International Monetary Fund in Washington. At Swedbank she is responsible for EMU matters and other strategic international issues. At the time of the formation of FöreningsSparbanken Lars Nyberg was appointed a member of the new bank's Executive Management in charge of financial matters. He left his position in August this year in order to devote himself to his own business and to public functions in the financial sector.
