Swedbank to acquire Samspar operation

Swedbank to acquire Samspar operation Dagengruppen, Samspar and Swedbank have agreed on Swedbank's acquiring, as of June 30, 1999, the business operation that, in accordance with an earlier agreement, should been transferred to the planned SamSparbanken. The business operation- which has some 25,000 customers and a balance-sheet of approximately SEK 750 million- will continue to be run with existing personnel within Swedbank. The application for a bank charter of its own for SamSparbanken AB, which was submitted earlier to the appropriate authority, will be withdrawn. Implementation of this agreement will be contingent on the requisite approvals by Dagengruppen's and Samspar Ekonomisk Förening's general meetings. Current scheduling calls for the final contract to be signed not later than June 24, 1999.
