Friday 19 June

Ash Court Care Centre is hosting a barbecue on Friday 19 June as part of National Care Home Open Day 2015 to give visitors a taste of what life is like as a resident at the Kentish Town care home.

The doors open at 2pm and visitors are welcome to come along, soak up the atmosphere, enjoy the food and chat with residents and members of staff, hear their stories and find out what Ash Court is all about.

“We’re hoping our neighbours and people from the local community will come and join us for a relaxing afternoon and have a good look around the different facilities in our dedicated units,” says Steven Anderson, manager of Ash Court Care Centre.

Care Home Open Day is a UK-wide initiative aimed at showing local people what care homes in their community are really like and to build relationships between care home residents, staff and their neighbours.

“It is wonderful to be participating in this national open day initiative, but for anyone who wants to come and look around Ash Court, every day is an open day – we welcome visitors to come and look around at any time without appointment as part of our open ethos so that people can get a feel for what the home is like on a ‘normal’ day. Potential residents’ families should never feel as though a home is making an extra special effort when they are expecting visitors, standards should always be at a very high level,” adds Steven.

Ash Court Care Centre is located in the heart of a residential area of Kentish Town and offers 24-hour residential nursing for people aged 55 and over, long-term, respite and post-operative care. Crisis intervention, non-planned and emergency admissions are a speciality. All rooms have ensuite facilities and can be individualised to suit each resident. Ash Court is part of the Forest Healthcare group of homes, which includes 13 individual homes throughout the South East of England.
