With the Chilterns in the distance bathed in glorious British sunshine, staff, residents and visitors to Woodlands Park Care Centre in Great Missenden enjoyed a day of activities and fun around the home and its stunning grounds.

“It was wonderful to be able to throw open the doors for this open day, and our staff and residents enjoyed games in the gardens, cakes and tea, and we were delighted to welcome guests who had never seen the home in the afternoon for a look around,” comments centre manager, Marie Shouler.  “The residents pitched in to make pizza for everyone, too, so it really did feel like a fantastic community event.”

Also visiting during the day were Councillor Patricia Birchley and a representative from the Care Quality Commission, the official inspectorate for care homes, who was on hand to answer any questions from residents, families and guests.

Anyone who missed the open day at Woodlands Park but still wants to look around is welcome to visit at any other time.  “We welcome visitors to come and look around at any time without appointment as part of our open ethos so that people can get a feel for what the home is like on a ‘normal’ day,” adds Marie.  “Potential residents’ families should never feel as though a home is making an extra special effort when they are expecting visitors, standards should always be at a very high level.”

Woodlands Park is located on Aylesbury Road, just outside the village of Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire.  Woodlands Park is part of the Forest Healthcare group of homes, which includes 12 individual homes throughout the South East of England.  For more information on Woodlands Park, please visit www.foresthc.com or call 08444 725 252.
