A party by the side of the Regent’s Canal saw residents and visitors enjoying al fresco dining and entertainment at the Bridgeside Lodge Care Centre in Islington as the home opened its doors on Friday 20 June as part of the National Care Home Open Day.

“We had a wonderful afternoon of fun outside on the terrace, with music, great food and lots of laughs for our staff, residents and guests,” comments centre manager, Fatma Makalo.  “The sun shining and reflecting on the water made it a wonderful afternoon, with friends and families young and old dropping in to join the celebrations.”

Anyone who missed the open day at Bridgeside Lodge but still wants to look around is welcome to visit at any other time.  “We welcome visitors to come and look around at any time without appointment as part of our open ethos so that people can get a feel for what the home is like on a ‘normal’ day,” adds Fatma.  “Potential residents’ families should never feel as though a home is making an extra special effort when they are expecting visitors, standards should always be at a very high level.”

Bridgeside Lodge Care Centre is located on Wharf Road in Islington, with 64 bedrooms spread across four floors, each catering for the different needs of residents.  Bridgeside Lodge is part of the Forest Healthcare group of homes, which includes 12 individual homes throughout the South East of England.  For more information on Bridgeside Lodge, please visit www.foresthc.com or call 08444 725 175.
