If is being implemented with all energy "The agreement between Pohjola, Skandia and Storebrand to merge their property & casualty insurance activities into a joint company - If - is being implemented with all our energy," says If's managing director Bo Ingemarson. The internal integration process is forging ahead in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden in line with the plans for a Nordic strategy agreed jointly by the owners. If has already received the go-aheads required to launch its operations in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The EU Commission has also given its approval. Skandia and Storebrand have already fully merged their property & casualty insurance activities. On March 31 a broad marketing campaign was launched in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. In Finland, the launch has been put on hold pending approval from the Finnish authorities. On February 1 this year a new board of directors and top management was appointed at Pohjola, and they have requested more time to acquaint themselves with the business structure and agreement. The Pohjola Board told the Annual General Meeting on April 10 that they intend to announce the results of their findings at a shareholders meeting on May 12. "We regret the uncertainty which the further delay causes our customers and employees in Finland. But we expect the Finish go-ahead to come soon after the Pohjola shareholders' meeting in May," says Bo Ingemarson.
