Merger between If and Sampo property and casualty - new organisation As previously announced, the merger between If and Sampo P&C is expected to complete at year-end 2001. Following completion, a new organisation will be implemented. As stated in the press release on November 7, Bo Ingemarson is CEO and President. Hannu Kokkonen, currently head of Sampo P&C, will be deputy CEO and head of business area Commercial. Knut W Francke is head of business area Private. Furthermore, Jan Svensson, currently head of business area Commercial (small and medium size corporates), will be head of the newly formed business area Business Support. Within business area Commercial, Anders Nordman from Sampo will be responsible for industrial clients and Torbjörn Magnusson will be responsible for small and medium sized corporate customers. Tom Rathke is Chief Financial Officer. Tom Melbye Eide is head of Legal. The other staff functions and IT will be coordinated within Business Support, with Kjell Rune Tveita as head of IT, Kerstin Ryer as head of HR, Mikkel Berg as head of Branding and Helena Dyrssen as head of Corporate Communications. The Sampo P&C operations will be gradually integrated into If during 2002. Hannu Kokkonen will initially be responsible for the entire If operations in Finland. Veli Kalle Tavakka, currently head of business area Industrial, will leave If at the implementation of the new organisation.
