Final result of Fortum’s redemption offer for Fortum Espoo’s shares

The offer period of Fortum Corporation’s (Fortum) redemption offer for the shares of Fortum Espoo Oyj (Fortum Espoo) pursuant to Chapter 6, Section 6 of the Finnish Securities Market Act has expired on 31 August 2006 in accordance with the terms and conditions of the offer. Fortum’s holding in Fortum Espoo after the expiry of the redemption offer period, taking into account all purchases by the expiry date, is a total of 15,610,381 shares representing about 99.88 % of shares issued by Fortum Espoo and of votes attached to them.
