Ministry of Trade and Industry's statement on environmental impact assessment program of Fortum’s Loviisa 3

The Finnish Ministry of Trade and Industry issued yesterday, on 16 October 2007, a statement on the environmental impact assessment (EIA) programme concerning the third unit of Fortum Power and Heat Oy’s Loviisa nuclear power plant and related projects. In the statement the Ministry notes that the environmental impact assessment program meets the content requirements prescribed by EIA legislation and has been processed according to this legislation.

Fortum will continue preparing the EIA report based on the assessment program, the statements issued thereon and the studies under preparation. The assessment report should be ready by summer 2008.
