CORRECTION OF ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION FIGURES

In its Interim Report 1-6/2003 Fortum reported a reduction of
electricity consumption by 2% in the Nordic countries and by 4% in
Finland in the second quarter compared to the corresponding period
last year. Actually the Nordic consumption stayed flat, 85.7
(85.9) TWh and the Finnish consumption increased by 4%.

All other reported consumption figures as well as data regarding
Fortum´s market shares and sales volumes are correct.
