FORTUM CORPORATION PRESS RELEASE 2 November 2015

CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) has ranked Fortum as a Nordic leader for the depth and quality of climate related information and awarded a position on  the CDP's Nordic Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI), released today. The index assesses companies' climate disclosure and top scores indicate a high level of transparency in the disclosure of information. Fortum’s disclosure score was the best possible: 100/100 and performance score A- (scale A-C). Fortum is featured in the CDLI for the 8th consecutive year.

CDP represents 822 institutional investors with EUR 86 trillion in assets. More than 5,500 companies disclosed environmental information through CDP in 2015. The investor community uses the scoring to assess corporate preparedness for changing market demands and emissions regulation. Good disclosure scores are used by investors as a proxy of good climate change management of companies.

"Climate change mitigation is embedded in Fortum's strategy and we believe that accountability for mitigating climate change is a business imperative. We welcome the increasing awareness and interest of capital markets on climate disclosure and performance. External independent assessments of our climate impact and listing in significant indexes are important for us, as they support the continuous development of our operations. They are also increasingly valuable for investors to evaluate companies' preparedness for a low carbon future", says Marja Mäkinen from Fortum Investor Relations.
