Fortum's stake in Lenenergo increases

Fortum's shareholding in Russian power company OAO Lenenergo is increased by 0.4
percentage points of voting shares. This is a result of Fortum's buy out offer of
July 29th 2005 made to all shareholders of common shares of Lenenergo. Fortum
received 2,699,259 common shares, and currently owns altogether 230 million
common shares of the company.

Total amount paid by Fortum is approximately 81 million RUR (approximately 2.4
MEUR at the current exchange rate) with the offer price of RUR 30 (approximately
0.87 EUR) per share.
