Fortum SmartLiving solution for four Lemminkäinen apartment buildings in Sompasaari, Helsinki
The Fortum SmartLiving solution will be installed in four of the apartment buildings Lemminkäinen is building in Sompasaari, Helsinki. The block’s first site, housing company Asunto Oy Helsingin Takila, will be completed by the end of 2018.
The apartment buildings will be built in compliance with the requirements in the Kalasatama area. Fortum’s solution will be integrated with the other home and housing company systems. In addition to controlling electric appliances and monitoring energy consumption, residents can compare their own consumption with that of reference households. Accurate and real-time measuring of energy, water and ambient conditions makes it possible to detect equipment malfunctions or leaks when the resident is away from home, say on a vacation, for example.
“Our solution benefits not only the residents, but also the housing company. Maintenance costs are lower when problems can be addressed early on,” says Rami Piik, Vice President, Fortum SmartLiving.
“Lemminkäinen is participating in housing development projects in the Kalasatama area, and we realised that by collaborating with the Fortum SmartLiving system we can best produce a modern and interesting service package”, says Lemminkäinen’s Jussi Niiranen, Senior Vice President, Building construction.
Fortum wants to be part of developing sustainable living and urban solutions. Fortum SmartLiving is an all-in-one solution that also supports sustainability and the wellbeing of the environment. The SmartLiving concept expands from the home automation system to also independent energy production with solar panels, and to household EV charging stations and other smart energy solutions.
