FORTUM CORPORATION ONLINE NEWS 24 NOVEMBER 2016

RUSNANO, a Russian state-owned development company, and Fortum have today signed a preliminary cooperation agreement to look into the possibility of creating a wind generation fleet of several hundred megawatts over several years. Further progress in the matter is still dependent on several factors such as the Russian prerequisite for domestic production of wind power generating components.

Electricity production from renewable sources is a key element in Fortum's strategy in Russia. Next year Fortum plans to complete the construction of Russia's largest wind park with a capacity of 35 MWs-in the Ulyanovsk region. Read more about the Ulyanovsk project we announced in December 2015.
