    Fortum Loviisa nuclear power plant’s annual outage 2024 to begin

    FORTUM CORPORATION PRESS RELEASE 31.7.2024 The annual outage of Fortum’s Loviisa nuclear power plant will begin with Unit 2 on Sunday, August 4th, followed by the servicing of Unit 1. This year, Loviisa 2 will undergo a short outage and Loviisa 1 will undergo the extensive annual outage, i.e. the so-called 4-year annual outage. The annual outages are expected to last approximately 51 days. During the annual outages, a quarter of the fuel will be replaced. In addition to this, both units will undergo various types of preliminary maintenance work, inspections, repairs and tests.  ”

    FORTUM CORPORATION PRESS RELEASE 4.1.2024 Fortum’s Loviisa nuclear power plant had a good production year in 2023. The power plant generated a total of 8.09 terawatt-hours of carbon-free electricity.  Loviisa 1 generated 3.99 TWh of power and its load factor was 89.79%; Loviisa 2 generated 4.10 TWh of power and its load factor was 92.32%.     FORTUM CORPORATION BUSINESS PRESS RELEASE 3.1.2023 Fortum’s Loviisa nuclear power plant had a good production year in 2022. The power plant generated a total of 7.9 terawatt-hours (net) of carbon-free power.
