Frames Bowling Lounge Proves to be an Excellent Place to Hosts Fundraising Parties in New York
January 2, 2013: New York, NY -- Did your New Year’s resolution for 2013 include being more charitable? Then head to Frames Bowling Lounge at the corner of 9thAve and 40thStreet in NYC, where you are bound to find a rocking charity event taking place on any random night of the week. From serving up pink cocktails in the month of October for Breast Cancer research, to hosting art auctions to benefit UNICEF, 2012 has proven to be quite successful for charity Bowl-a-thons at Frames.
A rather hot ticket this year for foundations that were looking to host something during the holidays, when donors are feeling a bit more generous, Frames has proven to be a perfect venue option. In the month of December alone, Frames held more than 10 charity events, which have collectively raised over $40,000 for various local causes.
“It’s easier to raise money while our donors are having fun,” confessed a charity organizer while booking her 200-person event last month. “An enjoyable night out and great memories make for hefty donations and a guaranteed return to next year’s event.”
Junior Achievement has been happily hosting bowling fundraisers with Frames for many years now. Their event is a celebration of persistent fundraising efforts, and everyone knows they will have a great party at the end. This Party with a Purpose is a win-win for all involved. “Several of our participants actually request to come to Frames. They know the customer service is great, there will be good food and a good time; while our organizers know we will experience a flawless event, with none of the standard event stress”, exclaimed Shirley Okereke from JA.
Since many corporations have funds set aside for charitable efforts and appreciate employee involvement, large companies like JP Morgan and Signature Bank, to name a few, have arranged charity bowling leagues for their employees, which also acts as a post-work stress relief. Knocking down two pins with one roll. Strike!
Foundations such as Junior Achievement, Zaenah’s Blanket and Skyz the Limit have all enjoyed successful fundraising through bowling this year. The organizers claim it is due to the fun atmosphere their guests enjoy. It’s a really simple formula: when guests stay later, they donate more. A local entertainment company, Skyz the Limit hosted a toy drive at Frames in the week leading up to Christmas. The founder incentivized her friends to come bowl and bring a toy in exchange for free drink at the Frames bar. They collected over 55 toys, and there was plenty of drinking and bowling.

ABOUT ZAENAH’S BLANKET FOUNDATION
The mission of Zaenah’s Blanket Foundation was to provide blankets to those who are in need of something warm to wrap their newborns in for the trip home from the hospital. The goal was to provide a service that inspired members of a community to be responsible for one another by committing to care for its youngest and most vulnerable members. Zaenah’s Blanket Foundation is a nonprofit created in the memory of Zaenah Mitchell, a vibrant 2 year old who lost her life 16 years ago. During her pregnancy with Zaenah, the founder planned to make her a keepsake quilt from bits of her clothing and baby blankets for her to have when she grew up, but sadly this never happened. After brainstorming on how to keep her daughter’s memory alive, the idea of Zaenah’s keepsake quilt manifested into Zaenah’s Blanket Foundation. Though blankets are the primary focus, Zaenah’s Blanket Foundation accepts all things baby; clothing, books, strollers, cribs, bedding, car seats, etc. These items are distributed monthly and are completely donation driven. They now services 5 hospitals throughout Manhattan and the Bronx, and continue to grow.
ABOUT SKYZ THE LIMIT
Skyz The Limit began a year ago as a local entertainment and events company. They recently decided to give back to the community by hosting two charitable events a year. Ronnie, the founder of the company, hosted a toy drive last week for Beth Israel Hospital, and they plan on having another one this summer.
