The FrankfurtRhineMain region in Germany has many secrets to reveal. Here are some of them! Sean Connery visited already - will you?

The Musica Antigua Festival in Bingen am Rhein

Bingen am Rhein is famous for its connection to Hildegard von Bingen (1098–1179). This is where she lived, worked and got her inspiration for the unique musical style she developed and became renowned for worldwide. The Musica Antiqua Festival on October 3–6, 2019, commemorates her and her music. What did the Middle Ages sound like? This is the perfect place to find out and journey to Hildegard’s time. When visiting the city, part of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will experience the amazing, romantic Rhine and everything related to it: fine wines, river cruises, vineyards as far as the eye can see, and much more.

Fine arts market at Eberbach Monastery

In the famous Rheingau region, which produces some the finest Rieslings Germany has to offer, there is a little gem called Eberbach Monastery, situated close to the town of Eltville. Sean Connery set foot in this beautiful monastery when shooting the movie “The Name of the Rose”, based on the book by Umberto Eco. On October 26 and 27, 2019, the monastery is transformed into a fine arts market, with 140 German artists and designers exhibiting their various works: sculpture, jewelry, fashion, porcelain – the choice is yours! Take a moment to experience this wonderful place and one of the finest art markets in the region. Take a guided tour of the monastery (including wine tasting) and enjoy its stunning history!
