Europe's Gateway to the East: Frankfurt Airport Offers Even More Connections to Eastern Europe This Summer / Weekly Choice of Almost 500 Scheduled Departures, More Than 62,000 Seats and Nearly 40 Destinations Franfurt/Main, Germany (ots) - Under the new Summer Timetable 2004 effective March 28, Frankfurt Airport (FRA) will be offering 491 scheduled passenger flights per week to destinations in Eastern Europe - an increase of 16.6 percent compared to last summer's schedule. The number of seats available per week from FRA to Eastern Europe will also climb 13.8 percent to 62,104. The new timetable features some 39 destinations in the former Eastern Bloc region, which stretches eastward from Germany to the Ural Mountains. With such a wide offering of flight connections, Frankfurt Airport continues to maintain its position as Europe's leading gateway for scheduled services to Eastern Europe. Furthermore, FRA serves as a central and strategic location for accessing Eastern Europe.
