Transfer of shares

18 December 2002 FREEPORT PLC ("the Company") The Company was notified on 17 December 2002 that Peter Woolley and Gary Russell, executive directors of the Company, had transferred the following shares in Freeport plc to Cannon Trust Company Limited, the corporate trustee of the Freeport Employee Benefit Trust 2002 ("the Trust") at a consideration of 291 pence per ordinary share: Peter Woolley 8,453 ordinary shares Gary Russell 8,453 ordinary shares As potential beneficiaries under the Trust, Peter Woolley and Gary Russell are treated as continuing to be beneficially interested in the shares acquired by the Trust on behalf of their respective families.
