Duni AB signs contract with SAP Svenska

Press Release 20-11-98 Duni AB signs contract with SAP Svenska Frontec is the implementation partner Duni AB has just signed a contact, worth approximately SEK 6 million, with SAP Svenska for the installation of the R/3 business system. By using the new ASAP (Accelerated SAP) project method, SAP is able to offer a short implementation period of 12 weeks and it is anticipated that the R/3 system will be in operation by January 1999. Frontec is acting as implementation consultant. SAP won the contract with Duni in competition with other companies, including IFS and Baan. "We chose SAP because R/3 is already installed and works well at our offices in Germany and France," says Gun Lundquist, Financial Director at Duni AB. "The R/3 system will be implemented at 5 sites in Sweden and Denmark. The Financial controlling and nominal ledger system will be installed in Sweden whilst the warehousing and invoicing system will be implemented at the installation in Denmark," adds Lundquist. Frontec aims to be fastest with R/3 "We're aiming to make the implementation of R/3 for Duni the fastest R/3 project completed in Sweden to date," says Michael Bergquist, Manager of the SAP R/3 consultants at Frontec. "The short time-scale is not entirely in line with our vision of being 'Sweden's fastest R/3 consultants'," continues Bergquist. "In the next stage of the project, which concerns finance, the logistics modules of R/3 for Duni Denmark will also be ready. "This part of the project will be especially interesting as Duni's solid work within Supply Chain Management will form the basis for the implementation, and bring with it new working methods and processes. The experience of the more than 80 consultants involved in Frontec's R/3 project, many of them certified by SAP, is a great asset," concludes Bergquist.
