Marakanda acquires Tur&Retur® from Frontec Marakanda has reached agreement with Frontec to acquire Tur&Retur®, one of the leading systems for electronic travel administration. Marakanda, the new e-commerce company jointly owned by Telia and FöreningsSparbanken, will take over all product rights and the agreements with over 100,000 users. Frontec will retain responsibility for maintenance and continued development on behalf of Marakanda. Telia is the pilot customer for Marakanda's electronic travel management services, where Tur&Retur® plays a key role. Telia expects to reduce its expenditures by SEK 150 million a year with this system. Among the more than 100,000 users of Tur&Retur® are the Swedish National Social Insurance Board and the Swedish Parliament's administrative offices. - With Tur&Retur® and our other e-commerce concepts, we can deliver turn- key solutions to our clients," says Stefan Bergelind, President of Marakanda. "Our system for electronic travel management handles reservations and automated expense records as well as billing. - Although our users feel that Tur&Retur® is the best system in the Swedish market, Frontec doesn't have the resources to fully market it. Marakanda gives us a partner with the ambition and opportunity to make Tur&Retur® the leading travel management system, says Frontec President Per Tjernberg, who sees the sale of Tur&Retur® as another step in Frontec's restructuring and focus on eBusiness. - The development of electronic services has just begun, says Stefan Bergelind. There is so much more than can be simplified and economized in terms of payroll administration and accounting with systems such as Tur&Retur®. Our goal is to offer other such systems, including for public sector procurement.
