Cell Network builds project platform for SL Infrateknik

SL Infrateknik AB, which is responsible for the collective transport infrastructure in Stockholm County, has entrusted Cell Network to design a project platform based on Microsoft Project 2002.
The assignment means adapting Microsoft Project to SL's (Stockholms Lokaltrafik) own process methodology for procurement projects. As a first step, it will be used for the IT department, and later on, it will be implemented in the entire organisation.

"SL Infrateknik AB procures equipment and services for the collective transport system in Stockholm County. Many procurement processes will be carried out as projects in the next few years within the framework of the coming expansion of communication and information services to the public. The project platform is intended for all employees in SL's organisation who are participating in different projects," says Anders Ahlford, key account manager at Cell Network.

The finished platform will increase the accessibility for all employees involved in the projects and means new opportunities as regards management and control.

"This is an important step as we improve our internal routines. In this way, we establish our project methodology within the entire organisation," says Henrik Virro, project manager at SL Infrateknik.

Cell Network is intensifying its co-operation with Microsoft as an MS Project Partner through added expertise in project methodology and project management.

The project was launched on 25 November and completion is planned in April 2003.
