New, automated management of access rights and mail accounts for almost 12,000 employees.
Automation saved the county council almost 1,500 working hours in conjunction with the reorganisation of Uppsala University Hospital (Akademiska Sjukhuset), which employs 65 percent of county council employees in Uppsala County. Moreover, the system also saves the unit responsible for the Domino platform about 10 hours work each week.

"The greatest benefit, however, is the improvement in quality. All personal details are owned and managed by the personnel system, which in turn obtains information from the population register," says Marie Carlsson, head of operation and management of the county council's Domino platform. "Now we need only monitor the changes. User additions and removals, name changes, organisational changes and group membership for applications are automatically taken care of according to changes in the personnel system."

"The aim of the project was to attain an 80/20 situation. That is, 80 percent of tasks managed through automation to as great an extent as possible. Operating personnel can then concentrate their time and expertise on the other 20 percent of the workload," explains John Johansson, division manager at Mandator.

Mandator has a general agreement with Uppsala County Council that runs until 31 March 2006.

Mandator is a Premium Business Partner to IBM and the GroupTech specialist unit is home to Sweden's most competent and knowledgeable Lotus Notes Domino team.
