October 5, 2011, Los Angeles, CA -- Charles Band, the legendary and prolific producer/director of over 300 horror, sci-fi and fantasy features (“Puppet Master” “Ghoulies” and “Subspecies” franchises), and founder of Full Moon Pictures, announces the launch of a new interactive entertainment site, www.FullMoonHorror.com, dedicated to all things horror, sci-fi and fantasy. The site, which will feature a mix of new and previously released movies, film clips, music, contests, merchandise and more, will launch online, Friday, October 21, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. PT/10:00 p.m. ET. A kick-off party takes place the same date from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Meltdown Comics, 7518 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
“Halloween is just around the corner,” says Band. “At FullMoonHorror.com, Halloween is going to be every day. The Internet and the new media revolution has shown that online is where the audience wants to get their entertainment. As a result, we’re building FullMoonHorror.com as an online ‘hangout’ where users from around the globe can get the Full Moon experience firsthand. The site will have exciting things happening all the time — a free, full length feature movie each week, interviews with celebrities, live video feeds, behind-the-scenes bits and never-before-seen film clips — to industry news, chat rooms, raffles, contests showcasing fan videos and much more.”
FullMoonHorror.com, a relaunch and redesign of FullMoonDirect.com, debuts as an all-inclusive entertainment venue where fans and new users can visit 24/7 for horror, sci-fi and fantasy content.
New programming on the site will showcase Full Moon star power with regular features such as “Conversations with Charles Band” and weekly series featuring Directors Stuart Gordon (“Re-animator,” “From Beyond”) and Ted Nicolaou (“Subspecies”). A behind-the-scenes series and look at some Full Moon stars such as William Shatner, Viggo Mortensen (“Prison”), Helen Hunt (“Trancers” films), Demi Moore (“Parasite”), is also in the works. Amy Paffrath, host of “Jersey Shore After Hours” on MTV, hosts “Sexy Stars,” which features interviews with sultry, attractive and talented up and coming actors and actresses.
The studio’s recent full length features, “Gingerdead Man 3” and “Evil Bong 3: The Wrath of Bong”, will be featured on the site and their latest film “Killer Eye Halloween Haunt,” is slated to debut at FullMoonHorror.com.
Other films include Full Moon’s “Grind House” series, with titles such as: “Savage Island,” “White Slave,” “Best of Sex and Violence,” “Zombiethon” and “Film Gore.” These films, featuring such talents and celebrity commentators such as John Carradine and the Carradine brothers, Elvira, Sybil Danning, Linda Blair and many others, were produced in the late 70s to mid-80s and have been rarely available on video.
Since the late 70s and early 80s, Charles Band, son of the late producer/director Albert Band (“Dracula’s Dog,” “Troll” and “TerrorVision”), has been known for producing and directing low-budget, direct-to-video horror, sci-fi and fantasy films making him a cult film icon. In addition to films, Full Moon is home to a successful merchandise line of toys and other memorabilia. For the past five years, “Full Moon Horror Road Show,” a stage extravaganza, featuring a mix of film clips, music, auctions, comedy and outrageous costumes, has traveled the country to over 100 cities to rave reviews.
