Gambro acquires Nordic sales company

Gambro acquires Nordic sales company Stockholm, Sweden - Gambro AB (Stockholm Stock Exchange: GAMBaST, GAMBbST), a leading international medical technology and healthcare company, has acquired the Swedish company Hospamed, a sales company for Gambro's renal care products of the Hospal brand on the Nordic market. Hospamed has a leading position on the Nordic market and has mainly developed the market for products in emergency dialysis. In 1998 the company had revenues of about SEK 40 M and it has 13 employees. The acquisition is part of Gambro's restructuring and efficiency improvement program within the Renal Care Products business area. In the European market, where Gambro has a strong and leading position, this includes a focusing and strengthening of the Hospal and Gambro brands. Through the acquisition of Hospamed, Gambro obtains a wholly-owned, strongly positioned operation in the fast growing segment emergency dialysis in the Nordic countries.
