Gambro enters into joint venture in Texas Stockholm, Sweden, March 1, 2000 - Gambro AB (OM Stockholm Exchange: GAMBaST, GAMBbST), a leading international medical technology and healthcare company, today announced that its subsidiary Gambro Healthcare, Inc. has entered into a joint venture with HSI Healthcare Services, Inc. to provide outpatient hemodialysis treatments at two acquired dialysis facilities located in Galveston county. The two outpatient dialysis centers, Island Dialysis in Galveston and Mainland Dialysis in LaMarque, presently provide dialysis treatments to approximately 149 patients. The University of Texas Medical Branch Division of Nephrology provides Medical Directorship to the two facilities. HSI Healthcare Services, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Family Health Center, Inc. "Gambro's decision to enter the joint venture is in line with the company's strategic plan to expand dialysis services throughout the state of Texas. University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston Division of Nephrology and Family Healthcare Centers, Inc. have strong reputations for providing quality dialysis treatment to patients in the Galveston, Texas area," stated Brad Nutter, President of Gambro Healthcare. With this agreement Gambro now provides outpatient hemodialysis treatments to over 1,450 patients in the state of Texas.
