Gambro won tax ruling Stockholm, Sweden, July 10, 2000 - Gambro AB (OM Stockholm Exchange: GAMBaST, GAMBbST), a leading international medical technology and healthcare company, today announced that the Swedish Supreme Administrative Court ruled in favor of a wholly owned subsidiary of Gambro AB regarding the manner in which the tax base for ABB shares, which were sold in 1998, should be calculated by Gambro. The tax base for the ABB shares has previously been questioned by the tax authorities. The Gambro Group has made reservations for tax related to the sale of ABB shares in 1997 and 1998 according to conservative accounting principles. The ruling by the Swedish Supreme Administrative Court means that Gambro will resolve a provision for taxes of about SEK 900M (USD 103 M) for these transactions.
