Juan P. Bosch new Chief Medical Officer of Gambro Stockholm, Sweden, January 18, 2001 - Gambro AB (OM Stockholm Exchange: GAMBaST, GAMBbST), a leading international medical technology and healthcare company, today announced that Dr. Juan P. Bosch has been appointed Chief Medical Officer of Gambro. In this position, which is new, Dr. Bosch will report to Sören Mellstig, President and CEO of Gambro. Dr. Bosch, who has worked for Gambro as a consultant for over ten years and most recently as Medical Director of Gambro's clinics outside the US, Gambro Healthcare International, will take up his new position with immediate effect. The focus for Dr. Bosch will be to work with Gambro Healthcare US and Gambro Healthcare International to provide guidance, support, and leadership in the clinical operations and to assist in the evaluation and implementation of improvements and innovations in the delivery of dialysis. In addition, he will support the continuous expansion of the international clinical operations. Dr. Bosch will work with the corporate and business area managements to identify and support broad based programs that recognize and maximize new technologies and innovative dialysis delivery methodologies, as well as programs that eliminate waste and inefficiency in the overall dialysis care and delivery process. Dr. Bosch will also establish policies and procedures that support "world class" patient outcomes for Gambro dialysis patients around the world. Dr. Bosch is Professor of Medicine at George Washington University, Washington DC, USA and is a world-wide known nephrologist with extensive experience in the field of extracorporal therapy. As chief of the Renal Diseases and Hypertension Division at George Washington University he has had a distinguished career in research in the field of chronic renal failure, hemo and peritoneal dialysis and continuous therapies. Dr. Bosch also has a long experience as a teacher and has been involved in the education of many nephrologist around the world. His clinical experience has been recognized in the book "The Best Doctors in America". "I am extremely pleased to appoint Juan P.
