Sandra Austin Crayton and Bill Gantz proposed for the Gambro Board Stockholm, Sweden, March 8, 2001 - Gambro AB (OM Stockholm Exchange: GAMBaST, GAMBbST), a leading international medical technology and healthcare company, today announced that Sandra Austin Crayton, President of PhyServ LLC, Atlanta, Georgia and Bill Gantz, Founder and former Chairman and President of PathoGenesis Corporation, Skokie, Illinois have been proposed as new members of the Gambro Board of Directors to be elected at the Annual General Meeting on March 21, 2001. Sandra Austin Crayton is President and CEO of PhyServ LLC, an information services company operating in the healthcare information systems market. PhyServ has about 2,000 employees and serves over 9,000 physicians and 300 hospital clients. Previously the operations were part of NDC Health Information Services where Austin Crayton was General Manager, Physician Management Services. Before joining NDC she was President of Sedona Healthcare, Inc. and prior to that she was President of Physician Services of Caremark. Austin Crayton is Board member of the US bank holding company National City Corporation, the specialty chemicals company Ferro Corporation and is a Director of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, a private hospital and physician management company. She has a masters degree in health and hospital management, a law degree and a bachelors degree in nursing. Bill Gantz is Founder and former Chairman, President and CEO of PathoGenesis Corporation, a pharmaceutical company that develops and commercializes drugs to treat chronic, infectious diseases. Gantz founded PathoGenesis in 1992, having left Baxter International Inc. as President and Chief Operating Officer to do that. He became Chief Operating Officer of Baxter in 1983 and President in 1987. Before that he held various positions in Baxter including Head of Europe for five years. Gantz is Board member of The Gillette Company, W.W. Grainger, Inc., Harris Bancorp, Inc., and Harris Trust and Savings Bank. He has a masters and bachelors degree in Business Administration from Harvard University and Princeton University respectively.
