Sören Mellstig new President of Gambro Stockholm, Sweden, June 21, 2000 - Gambro AB (OM Stockholm Exchange: GAMBaST, GAMBbST), a leading international medical technology and healthcare company, today announced that Sören Mellstig* (48) has been appointed new President and CEO of Gambro. He will take up his new position on July 1 this year. He is succeeding Mikael Lilius, who, as previously has been announced, has been appointed President of the Finnish energy company Fortum. Sören Mellstig is Executive Vice President of Gambro and responsible for the business area Gambro Renal Products. He joined the company in 1994 and was previously Executive Vice President, Finance and Corporate Control. Earlier he worked with Akzo/Nobel Industries for several years, where he held positions as Director and Controller, Akzo Nobel B.V. and Senior Vice President, Planning and Control, Nobel Industries. Mellstig holds an MBA- degree from Uppsala University, Sweden. "Sören Mellstig has done an excellent job as head of the business area Gambro Renal Products, which constitutes almost half of the group," says Claes Dahlbäck, Chairman of Gambro's Board of Directors. "The change program has been forcefully implemented, profitability is restored and a good base has been established for the future. Alain Granger* (58) has been appointed new head of the business area Gambro Renal Products succeeding Sören Mellstig. Alain Granger is a member of the management team of the business area and responsible for Global Marketing as well as Sales in Asia and the Americas.
