GANT PARTNERS WITH DIEMME FOR ITS FIRST EVER FOOTWEAR COLLABORATION
Iconic American sportswear brand GANT has teamed up with Italian footwear maker Diemme, to produce a limited-edition collection of hiking boots that are perfectly at home on city streets or urban trails. Produced in Diemme’s artisanal factory, located an hour north of Venice near the foothills of the mighty Dolomites, the boots feature subtle design elements from GANT’s heritage, as well as Diemme’s mountaineering DNA. The limited-edition collection will be available for purchase online and in select retailers on September 24th, 2020.
A TALE OF TWO HISTORIES
GANT has been shaping preppy sportswear since 1949, when it was founded by Bernard Gantmacher in New Haven, Connecticut. From day one, durability and longevity have been key factors in the design and production of every GANT piece. That is why for the brand’s first ever collaboration, it has partnered with Diemme, an Italian footwear manufacturer that also shares a rich history, and is built upon traditional craftsmanship and high-quality design.
“Diemme has been on my radar for a long time,” says GANT’s Global Artistic Director, Christopher Bastin. “They’re the perfect example of a brand that has catapulted a heritage product range into the higher echelons of fashion without compromising on quality and craftsmanship. When the opportunity to collaborate came along it was a no brainer.”
IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS
Based on Diemme’s classic Roccia Vet hiking boot, the collection is crafted in full-grain, vegetable-dyed cowhide leather, and has custom tonal and non-tonal rubber trims to protect against rocks, mud and road salt. The boots are lined with soft calfskin leather and come with a cushioned latex compound sole to keep your feet comfortable and happy.
Available in Persimmon Orange, Dry Sand (tan), and Solar Power (yellow), each boot comes with multiple lace color options in order to change up your look. The GANT Diamond Icon is embossed on one side with the Diemme logo on the other. The padded tongue bears a shared stamp, marking the collaboration. Size range is Euro 40-46.
