Get a further £400 off any boiler exchange

Middlesex, 20 January 2010 – gas-elec, the leader in the field of gas and electrical safety, services, products and advice, is matching the Government’s recently launched boiler scrappage scheme by offering all homeowners an additional £400.00 cash back off any boiler exchanged with the company. The Government scheme, which goes live on the 18th of January 2010, entitles homeowners who replace ‘G’ rated boilers with an ‘A’ rated boiler to a £400.00 allowance. In Chancellor Alistair Darling’s December pre-budget report he announced that up to 125,000 households with working boilers with the lowest ‘G’ rating in England can apply for vouchers from the Energy Saving Trust towards ‘A’ rated boilers or renewable heating systems such as a biomass boiler or heat pump. He explained that "each inefficient boiler adds over £200 to household bills and one tonne of carbon to the atmosphere”. “While the Government’s scheme targets a specific group of people, it disqualifies a huge sector of the population who have for example an ‘E’ rated boiler and would like to replace it with a ‘B’ rated boiler,” says John Davidson, managing director of gas-elec. “Homeowners in this situation would not qualify for the Government’s £400.00 allowance.” However, unlike the Government’s offer, gas-elec’s g-warm scrappage plus+ campaign is available to all customers – regardless of the boiler’s rating. “Homeowners will receive £400.00 cash back when the job is completed and paid. There is no limit on the boiler’s rating and the homeowner can decide from a range of boilers, which one they would like to replace it with. The campaign will run in tandem with the Government’s scheme,” adds John. In addition, gas-elec is giving the g3 package free of charge to all homeowners who utilise the gas-elec g-warm scrappage plus+. “The g3 is gas-elec’s Big Money-Saving Power Deal, which offers three additional great money-saving tools to start saving £££s today. We will give this to homeowners free of charge and entitles customers to a further £400.00 in savings,” adds John. The g3 is made up of the following: • g-save economiser: save between 10-31% off your gas bill • e-save electricity monitor: save up to 15% off your electricity bill • gas-elec Compare: switch to the best energy deal on the market ENDS/…
