Gatespace Signs Letter of Intent with MetaVector Technologies to Partner in the Integrated Service Gateway Market Gatespace's OSGi-based Distributed Service Platform bundles with MetaVector's Pylix Gateway for enhanced broadband services Seattle, Connections 2001 - May 10, 2001 - Gatespace, a provider of open standards based distributed service platforms for designing, developing, and delivering network-based services, announced today that an agreement has been reached with MetaVector Technologies, a leading supplier of Integrated Service Gateways. This non-exclusive agreement targets the creation of an OSGi-based Distributed Service Platform and an Integrated Service Gateway for the emerging residential, small enterprise, and small office / home office gateway market. Gatespace and MetaVector Technologies have both identified the gateway operators as the key actors in the rapidly growing market for broadband services to the home. Gatespace's Distributed Service Platform is designed to meet the requirements from gateway operators, with focus on security, speed of deployment and cost efficiency. Gatespace extensions, e.g. secure communication, remote management, user management and payment, are tailored to support the large-scale deployment of services in a broadband network. MetaVector Technologies' services, i.e. voice over IP, office applications, home control and energy management have attracted major interest from new and existing operators looking at providing value-add services in broadband networks. "The operators ask for complete solutions, and Gatespace's Distributed Service Platform provides the middleware that is complementary to complete our Pylix Gateway and forms a base for our services," says Jan Van Gael, CEO at MetaVector Technologies. "Gatespace is recognized in the OSGi world as the leading supplier of OSGi platforms, and their focus on a Distributed Service Platform adds the value we need to go after the operators." "MetaVector has quickly established itself as a strong supplier of Integrated Service Gateways, focusing on communication and energy services. We are glad to see that we share the same vision of the market and are sure that MetaVector Technologies' powerful Gateway will open new doors for us when approaching the operators." says Staffan Truvé, CEO and founder of Gatespace.
