EPCOS PFC capacitors for industrial applications save space without compromising on performance

Now available from Gateway Electronic Components is a range of compact power factor correction capacitors which have been designed for applications where space is at a premium. The EPCOS PhaseCap® Compact series, manufactured by TDK Corporation, is available in a choice of diameters of just 116 and 136 mm and insertion heights of 164 and 200 mm making them ideal for use in PFC systems including three-phase industrial networks, for example.

Available in voltages ranges from 230 up to 1000 V and capacitance values between 3 x 11 and 3 x 181 µF, these capacitors offer PFC values between 5  kvar (50 Hz) and 33 kvar (60 Hz).

The EPCOS PhaseCap® Compact series can withstand inrush currents of up to 400 times their rated current and are PCB-free and self-healing. An integrated overpressure disconnector ensures additional safety. The capacitors are designed for a case temperature of 65 °C (hot spot temperature up to 85 °C) and a service life of up to 200,000 hours.
