Inteno releases full system GA of the powerful iopsys software platform
Today Inteno announces the first general available system release of the full iopsys 2.0 software suite, including three applications in App Store and Google Play.
“We continue to realize our vision: ‘Everything in the connected home should be integrated and accessible from different devices, from anywhere, at any time’. The general available system release, where all the software components interact as a system, brings us a big step closer to our vision”, says Conny Franzén, CEO of the Inteno Group, the company that has developed the iopsys platform.
“The gateway is the common denominator in most homes. With an open software platform designed for innovation and participation it will become the hub for the connected home.”
The cornerstones in the iopsys platform are the open source gateway operating system including packet engine and the ICE communication engine based on XMPP. These enable the residential gateway to connect to and download applications from the iopsys application store and management platform.
The iopsys platform is not only for commercial use. As it is an open platform it is also very well suited for various non-commercial development and research projects.
“We have used iopsys in research projects related to the smart home. The open solution is well in line with our vision and it gives us the possibility to offer a pre-commercial environment where the industry, academia and public organizations can interact”, says Claus Popp Larsen, Manager Smart Living at Acreo Swedish ICT.
“The iopsys 2.0 software suite will allow application development in all verticals, and ecosystem partners are invited to participate in building tomorrows connected home, starting today”, Conny Franzén says.
The three applications for iopsys, Home Watch, FileMe and WiFiJoe, are available from App Store and Google Play. To use them, you need a residential gateway with the iopsys 2.0 software.
