Getinge Infection Control has been awarded the independent and prestigious iF DESIGN AWARDS
for our innovative user-interface Getinge CENTRIC and the rotary sealer Getinge ProSeal.
The design of the newly launched user-interface for sterilizers and washer-disinfectors creates
attention and together with the previous Red Dot design award, CENTRIC now has been awarded
twice thanks to its user-centric approach and focus on process assurance and safety.

Since 1953, the iF International Forum Design GmbH. has determined and given prizes for outstanding design performance. The iF DESIGN AWARDS are among the most prestigious design prizes worldwide. More than 20,000 competition submissions each year from more than 50 countries confirm this.
Getinge Infection Control has in the past years developed CENTRIC a new patent pending user interface integrated into sterilizers, washer-disinfectors, automation systems and sealers. Creating a user interface for equipment in the infection control settings that enables an efficient, safe and intuitive handling required extensive user involvement and research engagement.
“Getinge Infection Control is proud to be honored yet another prestigious design award for our CENTRIC user-interface. This is a testament that Getinge has developed an innovative and intuitive interface centered around process assurance and safety for the operator. We truly believe that this will be the way forward in our industry,” says Joacim Lindoff, President & CEO for Getinge Infection Control.

Getinge ProSeal is a key component in making the sterilization workflow as safe and efficient as possible. Large rounded edges have a guiding effect to enter the pouch in the sealer easily.
Together with the slow start function, the user can seal big and bulky items with maintained control. Furthermore, the sealer can be tilted for best ergonomic position. An animated LED light gives direct feedback on the sealer’s status when heating up and when it’s ready to use. Also, the light follows the movement of the pouch to confirm a safe sealing process while the touch screen’s interface design guides the user to most efficient and safe use.
In this process, Getinge has worked in close cooperation with the Swedish design and innovation agency Lots. This is the second time Getinge Infection Control and Lots win a design award together for the CENTRIC user-interface.

The iF design award night, where the winners will be duly celebrated, will take place on February 27 at BMW Welt in Munich.
