The future of GF's facility in Seewis (Switzerland/Canton Grisons) was ushered in with a ceremonial groundbreaking today. The comprehensive modernization plan includes the construction of a new high-bay warehouse.

Representatives of GF Piping Systems kicked off the ceremony, which was also attended by Nina Gansner, President of the municipality of Seewis, and Daniel Capaul, Head of SME Portfolio Management and Settlement for the canton of Grisons. The ceremony featured the first step in the demolition of the old warehouse; a state-of-the-art high-bay warehouse designed in line with the latest ecological criteria will be built instead. This first phase will take around 20 months.

Jens Frisenborg, Head Business Unit Industry/Utility at GF Piping Systems, said: “Pioneering work is continuously achieved at the Seewis facility. The investment is both a commitment to this location and an investment into our innovative strength.”

The exterior and interior of the office building, as well as the surrounding areas such as parking spaces and access roads, are also being expanded or newly built. The renovation of the office building will create a representative area for customers, with a showroom featuring GF products and meeting rooms for customer presentations.

The Seewis location, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021, hosts around 200 employees. It primarily produces high-tech plastic valves and actuators, predominately for use in water infrastructure systems in Europe.
