The world’s first infrared welded PVC-U system
Previously, PVC-U pipes could only be connected with solvent or solvent-free adhesives. Now, the Swiss flow solutions provider GF Piping Systems has introduced infrared (IR) welding to PVC-U piping systems as a more sustainable, cost-effective, and safe solution. In order to demonstrate the benefits of IR PVC-U welding, GF Piping Systems will host a webinar on December 1st, 2022.
The newly introduced IR PVC-U system by GF Piping Systems is an innovative solution for the chemical process industry and the water treatment sector, as it combines the experience of working with PVC-U with a proven jointing technology. To give end-users an introduction to the capabilities of this new product range and answer customer questions, GF Piping systems will host a webinar on December 1st, 2022, streamed live from its sales company in Albershausen, Germany.
Host Chris Brow will guide participants through a variety of topics, beginning with a general introduction to IR welding solutions by GF Piping Systems as well as the current PVC-U portfolio. The webinar will also discuss the benefits of both traditional cementing and the new IR welding option, after which the experts in the studio will conduct live demonstrations. Finally, customer experiences will provide examples of IR PVC-U welding in practice. Speakers include Maurice Veldenzer, Product Manager PVC-U at GF Piping Systems, as well as Josef Buergi, Global Product Manager IR / BCF Fusion Machines at GF Piping Systems, who states "I look forward to show how we create safe and adhesive-free connections for life with this innovation." The webinar will be broadcast in English from 10am to 11am CET, and in German from 2pm to 3pm CET.
The new IR PVC-U system introduces machine-controlled processes to PVC-U piping systems, limiting the risk of human error and ensuring repeatability for every joint made. At the same time, IR welding increases reliability thanks to automatic monitoring that tracks and evaluates each weld and the absence of solvents leading to an improved chemical resistance. Finally, the process also improves work and installation safety as solvents and their fumes can be avoided. GF Piping Systems has developed special clamping inserts which allow customers to easily convert their IR 63 Plus and IR 110 A welding machines for PVC-U welding.
