Global Health Partner (GHP) has acquired a medical gastroenterology and endoscopy unit at Odenplans Läkarhus through a business transfer. “The acquisition of this clinic is a good complement to the gastroenterology and endoscopy business that we run at Sophiahemmet through Stockholm Gastro Center,” says Marianne Dicander Alexandersson, CEO of Global Health Partner.

The clinic was formed in 1996 and is centrally located in Läkarhuset at Odenplan. It is thus well positioned in Stockholm in modern premises and is close to public transport facilities. The business has five employees and has a turnover of SEK 9 million. Revenues mainly come from Stockholm County Council. GHP’s clinic Stockholm Gastro Center is acquiring 100 percent of the business and the company’s former owner will continue to work at the clinic.

“Today there is an increasing demand for gastroenterology specialist care and endoscopy and through the acquisition Stockholm Gastro Center’s already good position in the market in Stockholm is strengthened,” says Bengt Lavö, CEO of Stockholm Gastro Center.

The acquired business will be consolidated in GHP as from 1 October 2012. It is estimated that the effect on the Group’s results will be positive both for the remainder of 2012 and during the coming year.

GHP already runs three clinics within gastroenterology and endoscopy: Stockholm Gastro Center, Gastro Center Skåne and Gastro Center Göteborg.

In addition to gastroenterology, GHP runs specialist clinics in the following selected areas of treatment: orthopaedics, spine surgery/spine care, specialist dentistry, obesity surgery and metabolic diseases, and arrhythmia.
