Global Health Partner (GHP) has acquired Gildhøj Privathospital ApS in Brøndby, Copenhagen, Denmark, a specialist clinic operative in the field of orthopaedic surgery. “Gildhøj Privathospital is a highly specialised clinic within our Service Line Orthopaedics and further strengthens our position both within the business area and in the Danish market. The clinic has some of Denmark’s foremost specialists within orthopaedics and has a good reputation among both patients and colleagues. We are both happy and proud to continue to develop the business together with the clinic and to give high quality care in the Copenhagen region,” says Per Båtelson, CEO for Global Health Partner.

Gildhøj Privathospital was formed in 1991 as one of the first private Danish clinics focusing on orthopaedic surgery. The clinic is located in the west of Copenhagen in modern premises, has its own MRI and X-ray diagnostics and is close to rehabilitation facilities. Gildhøj Privathospital was accredited without any remarks during the autumn of 2011 under “The Danish Quality Model”.

GHP has acquired a share of 85 percent. Of the company’s two previous owners Claus Hovgaard remains as a partner after the acquisition. Both of the previous owners will continue to work at the clinic.

“GHP’s focus on quality and specialisation fits in well with our vision and what we offer our patients. As part of the network of high-quality care providers we can continue to work on the development of our clinic and the orthopaedic competencies through cooperation and knowledge exchange among the different competence centres,” says Claus Hovgaard, who continues to be an owner and CEO of Gildhøj Privathospital.

Gildhøj Privathospital has approximately 40 employees and sales of just over SEK 60 million. In the general downturn in the Danish health care market, the clinic has managed, due to its customer structure, to maintain a profitable business, with organic growth over the past years. A majority of the revenues come from the company’s good contacts with insurance companies and a number of sports clubs. Gildhøj Privathospital will be consolidated in GHP as a subsidiary as from 1 February 2012. It is estimated that the effect on the Group’s results will be positive for the whole of 2012.

GHP runs specialist clinics in the following selected treatment areas: orthopaedics, spine surgery/spine care, specialist dentistry, obesity surgery, metabolic diseases and arrhythmia. Today there are seven clinics within spine surgery and orthopaedics in addition to Gildhøj Privathospital, inStockholm, Gothenburg andLundinSweden,BergeninNorwayand Århus inDenmark.
