Christmas Shoppers Starting Early According To GiftsGuideUK.com Poll
The Christmas spending season has started early with one in four shoppers having already started their Christmas shopping according to a poll by leading gifts review website GiftsGuideUK.com.
A massive 76% of respondents who had already started their Christmas shopping cited that they were hoping to grab some early bird discounts was the main reason for starting in early November. With retailers already heavily discounting against each other in order to try and gain a greater share of each pound spent on Christmas gifts, it certainly looks like shoppers are getting savvy as to when the best time to buy is in order to get those great deals.
Paul Smith, Managing Director GiftsGuideUK.com commented: “Online shopping has become more accessible to the masses and over about 55% of our poll respondents preferred to shop through online gift shops than actually heading out to hit the shops due to the discounting that tends to start amongst online retailers at the beginning of November in order to turn people’s heads. The online marketplace during the Christmas season is fiercely competitive and with a greater product range than is often on offer in the shops along with free delivery with many of the retailers, early Christmas shopping online just makes sense.”
The online poll also revealed that the top 3 gifts purchased as Christmas gifts so far are:
1). Dave The Funky Shoulder Monkey – An interactive robotic toy which expresses a range of emotions and actions through the use of a hidden remote control.
2). Flitter Fairies – A children’s toy which you control to make it look like the fairy is magically flying around you.
3). Giant Gummy Bears – Take a regular Gummy Bear and make it 1400 times bigger, 12,600 calories worth of Gummy goodness.
