Florida Mom Wins Family Trip to Gildan® New Mexico Bowl and College Scholarship in Gildan® Touchdowns for Tuition Sweepstakes
Charleston, SC, December 13, 2011 -- Myra Vicente, 40, lifelong Punta Gorda, Florida resident came across the Gildan® Touchdowns for Tuition Sweepstakes on a sweepstakes web site, entered the contest and found out last week she won the grand prize.
For this mother of three, the prize was ideal - a family trip (hotel and airfare) to the December 17, 2011 Gildan® New Mexico Bowl, as well as tickets to the game and a $2,000 base college scholarship that will increase by $1,000 for every touchdown scored during the Bowl game (up to a $10,000 maximum).
To bring the excitement of the Gildan® New Mexico Bowl to parents everywhere, Gildan® launched an online Touchdowns for Tuition contest. Through an easy online entry process that ran from September 15, 2011 through November 20, 2011, thousands entered from around the United States. At the conclusion of the contest, Myra Vicente was randomly selected as the lucky winner.
Vicente, currently a stay-at-home mom with 14-year-old Justin, 10-year-old Vanessa and 8-month-old Ashton, is a substitute school teacher with the Charlotte County Public Schools. Her husband, Mick, 53, is the head of the Department of Juvenile Justice of Punta Gorda, Florida.
To add to the excitement, the Vicente’s found out about their big win on their son Justin’s 14th birthday, December 2. Justin, interested in computer technology and video production, will be the recipient of the scholarship.
