KYRO SEEKS COOPERATION PARTNER FOR ITS ENERGY BUSINESS


Kyro Corporation has decided to investigate possibilities for strengthening its
Energy business through an external cooperation partner.

Kyro is launching a study to search for a cooperation partner and to determine
possible forms of cooperation. The cooperation may involve ownership
arrangements.

Kyro aims at simultaneously improving the operational and customer service
capabilities as well as the development outlook of its Energy business while
focusing resources on the development of its core business, Glaston Technologies.

Kyro is a growth-driven, financially solid, and global technology group. Its
business areas are Glaston Technologies and Energy.  Glaston Technologies
encompasses the globally operating Glass Machinery Group, which is the world
market leader in glass processing machinery, and the Glass Processing Group,
which focuses on markets in Finland and neighbouring areas. The Energy business
area consists of the energy producer Kyro Power Oy, which generates energy in
modern power plants, heat and electricity in its gas-fired power plant and
electricity in its hydropower plant.
