TAMGLASS LTD. OY HAS PURCHASED A 70% SHARE OF SUOMEN LÄMPÖLASI OY

Tamglass Ltd. Oy, the technology and market leader in safety glass
machinery and a part of the Kyro Group, has purchased a 70 % share
of Suomen Lämpölasi Oy, which manufactures insulated glass
elements for the window and door industry as well as construction
projects. Suomen Lämpölasi Oy net sales in 2002 were approximately
EUR 7 million, and it employs 45 persons. The company was
previously fully owned by Jorma Nenonen, who will still hold 30 %
of the shares and continues as the managing director. The
acquisition price will not be disclosed and a part of the
acquisition price is paid with Kyro Corporation’s own shares.

Tamglass Ltd. Oy also acquired in November 2002 a 70 % share of the
balcony glazing supplier Finton Parvekejärjestelmät Oy, currently
Tamglass Finton Oy. Tamglass Safety Glass, a glass processing
company already previously within the Tamglass Group, Tamglass
Finton Oy and Suomen Lämpolasi Oy together form the Tamglass Group’s
glass processing business area, whose director will be Pertti
Iivanainen, managing director of Tamglass Safety Glass. The glass
processing business area deepens and expands the Tamglass Group’s
glass processing know-how and market knowledge, which is significant
for machinery manufacturing. Tamglass Group net sales in 2001 were
 EUR 120 million.

The strategy of the Kyro Group aims primarily at expanding its glass
processing machinery business, both organically and through
acquisitions. In April 2002, Kyro Corporation acquired Uniglass
Engineering Oy, a Tampere-based manufacturer of tempering machinery
for flat glass. In addition to this, Kyro Corporation agreed on 13
December, 2002 to acquire Z. Bavelloni, the Italy-based glass pre-
processing machinery market leader for glass, and Glasto, an
international distributor of glass processing machinery.

Kyro Group net sales in 2001 were EUR 147 million, and its largest
business area is Safety Glass Technology, consisting of the Tamglass
Group and Uniglass Engineering. The business area’s share of Group
net sales in 2001 was about 82%, and it employs a total of 496
 people.
