Belonging to Glaston Group, the Bavelloni brand boasts a long tradition in the production of machines for glass edging. Today, the newborn Hiyon range can satisfy the most demanding user requirements, merging wide experience with strong innovation.

Glaston Bavelloni is a well-known international pioneer in glass processing technologies. Founded in 1946, the core of this world famous brand has its roots in edge working technologies. The company took its first steps in the diamond tool business, executing glass finishing for many different applications. During a long and successful history, the company widened its offering to include the first machines for edge processing, creating the widest range available in the market over the years and becoming the world’s point of reference in the field.

Being part of a strong group

Rich in technological know-how shared at all levels inside the organization, Glaston Bavelloni has dedicated important research and development activities to the creation of innovative products that will further consolidate its brand position in the glass industry.

Innovation, reliability, quality and eco-sustainability are the main features of Hiyon: the new family of vertical edgers with cup wheels can answer any needs for processing flat glass edges with arrises and variable angles.

Overcoming old styles and moving ahead, Hiyon takes up the technological challenge of today’s industry and is able to satisfy all criteria for performance, automation and efficiency.

The Hiyon family comprises 6 models: 4 for flat edging with arrises and 2 for variable angle chamfering. Their features are extremely innovative and bring a wave of modernity to the glass industry.

Combining proven tradition with innovation

Following tradition, Hiyon machines are equipped with a Glaston patented reversible conveyor, sliding on adjustable guide rails and without ball bearings, which allows a very good processing of small pieces and better glass hold. The conveyor needs very limited maintenance; it is less subject to wear, vibration and noise compared with any other on the market. At the same time, the new, patented system with double drive motorization enables a perfect synchronization of transport and increases mechanical performance for better final product quality.

The supporting structure has been re-designed using the most modern systems available in the market, increasing the machine’s rigidity with the advantage of allowing repeatability in operation and a long lifetime. Machine robustness is proven by the maximum workable thickness.

A new, patented device that drives the inlet conveyor chain allows the grinding of very small pieces. A kit for glass thickness measuring can be installed on the machine inlet arm to measure glass thickness and transfer the information automatically to the control system.

Problems due to corrosion have been treated with special care: the tools compartment, which is constantly in contact with edging water, is made totally of stainless steel.

Empowering the operator through mobility

Breaking common schemes but in line with the newest safety regulations, the new Hiyon family will not be equipped anymore with a separate bulky electrical box: it has been now fully integrated in the machine body. As a result, machine installation is easier, occupied space is optimized, and ergonomics in the working environment have been improved.

To make the machine user friendlier, all Hiyon machines are provided with advanced touch screen control: complete with icons and illustrations that are very intuitive and easily understandable. It memorizes and recalls settings very quickly to support the operator’s job with statistics about maintenance and service.

But the innovations are not over! Thanks to a function especially developed, it is now possible to transfer the control panel view in remote mode by wifi to compatible tablets. This application can increase working comfort, thus securing increased efficiency and reducing possible mistakes. As well, the operator will be able to connect the machine to the company computer network through the LAN port or to transfer information manually with a USB port.

Eco-friendliness and better energy efficiency

Special attention has been dedicated to energy saving and to the environment. The Hiyon range can be equipped with the eco-friendly GRIND&STOP function: the system stops the conveyor, spindles and water pumps when not in use. The operator will be even free to exclude and stop those spindles that are not in use, reducing the wear of mechanical parts and saving energy.

A washing machine that is mechanically and electronically integrated on the Hiyon range outlet arm will be available. HiWash will be fully managed by the control panel, without any separate electrical box.

Opening a new chapter in glass edging traditions

With this new range, completely designed and produced in the Bregnano Italy factory as a result of continuous investments in research and development, Glaston today can prove once again its constant engagement and initiative in the glass market by launching new products that are integrated within the Group’s full offering.

The Glaston Bavelloni sales network and Glaston Italy staff will be at your disposal in the Bregnano factory and showroom to introduce the new models and suggest the best configuration for different customer needs.
