ACDelco Turns Its Attention To Turkey

In its drive to significantly strengthen its presence across Europe, ACDelco has formed a new alliance with an aftermarket partner in Turkey. Recognising the potential for growth that exists within what stands as a strategically important market, Delco Automotive Ltd, based in Istanbul, now has distribution rights for ACDelco’s complete aftermarket programme.

In addition to drawing on the strength, depth and relevance of ACDelco’s European product offering, Delco Automotive has at its core an experienced team of individuals, all of whom are well versed with Turkey’s automotive industry, in particular the replacement parts sector.

As Lee Quinney who heads up ACDelco’s UK and European operation states: “This is a major development for ACDelco, not just in Europe but globally. We recognise the potential for growth that exists across the country and are extremely delighted to be working in strategic partnership with Delco Otomotiv. They are already proving their effectiveness and we have every confidence that they will play a significant part in helping ACDelco secure greater penetration of the European aftermarket.”

Having already placed significant orders covering some 3,000 applications across ACDelco’s product groups of braking, oils, spark plugs, bulbs and filtration, Delco Otomotiv is now in the process of evaluating ACDelco’s batteries, wiping and clutch programmes, with product shipments expected to be imminent.

Commenting on behalf of Delco Otomotiv, Yavuz ASLAN stated: “Not only is ACDelco a very strong, international and globally recognised brand, it has at its disposal a huge product range and one that is perfect when it comes to OE qualified spare parts in terms of quality, price, range coverage and availability. Not surprisingly, given that it also provides almost 100% coverage of the European vehicle parc, we believe that there is tremendous potential for growth in Turkey and are therefore enthusiastic about what the future has to hold.”

With a new sales organisation structured and in place across the country, Delco Otomotiv is in the process of introducing the ACDelco brand to the aftermarket, the long-term aim being to secure significant market penetration across all product groups. Indeed the Turkish team that has been put in place has already approached a number of prominent aftermarket players, which has involved visiting more than 400 retailers and service outlets.

With a presence now established online, Delco Otomotiv is looking to support the product rollout by implementing an aggressive promotional campaign that will take in advertising, PR, point-of-sale material, product displays and seasonal promotional material and campaigns.
