San Francisco September 11, 2006 — Ditech Networks (Nasdaq: DITC), Empirix, Global IP Sound, JDSU (Nasdaq: JDSU), Polycom (Nasdaq: PLCM) and Telchemy jointly announced today that they will take a leading role in establishing the V2oIP Quality Alliance (www.v2oipqualityalliance.org), an alliance of communication industry innovators that will help shape and support the direction of voice and video-over-IP (V2oIP) quality issues. The new alliance will combine the expertise of key technology providers, service providers and industry experts to define industry best practices as well as help educate the market about relevant technologies, standards, and deployment methods.
"I am pleased to see vendors, service providers, and industry experts collaborating under the Alliance umbrella and furthering the IP Communications space," stated Jeff Pulver, chairman of pulver.com.

“One of the most important areas of voice and video over IP is quality”, said Paul Waadevig, Industry Manager for Frost & Sullivan’s Conferencing & Collaboration practice. “We believe that a proactive, cooperative industry effort focused on understanding, measuring and improving quality will accelerate development and deployment of high-quality IP voice and video solutions and services, while helping avoid some of the pitfalls that are commonly encountered with wide adoption of emerging technologies.”
